Jason Costello is a Co-Founder and Principal of the The Cabrio Group and is the President of Cabrio Properties. Mr. Costello is responsible for all of the Firm’s business across the Cabrio brand. He is responsible for creating the vision of the Firm and generating opportunities for business development and growth. Mr. Costello has an established track record in the real estate industry and has broad experience across all aspects of the business. Mr. Costello began his career in brokerage where leasing transactions were the focus of his efforts. This experience established his transactional and negotiating expertise. Mr. Costello is also responsible for the property management of over 400,000 square feet of real estate operated by Cabrio Properties. This portfolio spans across commercial office, retail and mixed-use properties in several markets. Mr. Costello works directly with all of the Firm’s clients both on the property side and the investment side of the business.
Mr. Costello earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Mr. Costello started his career in commercial real estate with Bluestone Realty Advisors, one of the largest commercial brokerages in Southeast Michigan. He then joined Amvest Properties as an Asset Manager of a $50 million portfolio of property located throughout the region.
Mr. Costello is active in the Ann Arbor community and believes that business has a responsibility to enhance the communities in which they work. He is a Board Member of the Washtenaw Affordable Housing Corporation which operates 130 units of low income housing throughout Washtenaw County. He is involved with the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation and supports several local and national charities. Mr. Costello resides in Ann Arbor, enjoys travel to remote destinations and flying private aircraft as a licensed private pilot.
Bennett Borsuk is a Principal and Co-Founder of The Cabrio Group and is involved in all aspects of the Firm’s business and development. With over 15 years of experience developing and operating a diversified group of businesses, Mr. Borsuk focuses on creating growth and operational strategies for the Firm. His transactional experience with investment real estate includes office, retail, residential and university campus housing. Mr. Borsuk has a keen sense for value investing and is aggressive in enhancing returns through operating efficiencies.
Mr. Borsuk earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is a principal of Benquin Business Systems, a company that specializes in the re-marketing of office equipment and a provider of information technology services. Additionally, Mr. Borsuk operates Sky Promotions, a promotional products and marketing company. Through Benquin Properties, Mr. Borsuk holds a portfolio of campus housing near the University of Michigan.
Mr. Borsuk founded The Cabrio Group to establish a brand of companies that offers full commercial estate services. The Cabrio Group, through its affiliates and subsidiaries, provides property management services, brokerage, development and equity investments through private syndication.
Mr. Borsuk resides in Ann Arbor and is active in the Ann Arbor Chamber of Commerce and the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation.
Rob Spears is the Chief Financial Officer for The Cabrio Group and the Managing Principal and CEO of Cabrio Properties. Mr. Spears is responsible for the financial management of The Cabrio Group and the accounting and tax preparation for all of the assets under the Cabrio brand. Mr. Spears is also responsible for the structuring of Cabrio investment partnerships and entities. An expert in real estate finance, he oversees financing for both the existing portfolio and new acquisitions. Mr. Spears works with local banks for conventional financing and large investment banking institutions for securitized conduit financing.
Mr. Spears experience in property and financial management spans more than a decade in the commercial estate business. As CFO of Amvest Properties Mr. Spears structured over 20 commercial property acquisitions and developments totaling more than 750,000 SF and $100 million in property value. Mr. Spears earned a B.B.A. from Iowa State University.
Mr. Spears currently resides in Britton, MI with his wife, Michelle and their two young children, Elizabeth and Derek. He is an accomplished golfer and enjoys competing in both State and National level amateur golf events.
Tyler Kinley is the Managing Director for the Seattle office of The Cabrio Group. Mr. Kinley is responsible for business development and acquisition activity in the Seattle area and the Northwest region. Mr. Kinley brings a wide breadth of experience to the The Cabrio Group that includes property development, acquisition, management and marketing across commercial, mixed-use and residential asset classes.
Mr. Kinley holds both a B.S. in Geology and a B.A. in Communications from Tulane University in New Orleans, LA. He also holds a Masters of Urban Planning and Real Estate Certificate from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Mr. Kinley is a LEED® AP as designated by the U.S. Green Building Council. Prior to joining The Cabrio Group in Seattle, Mr. Kinley was a Development Associate for Phoenix Company based in Ypsilanti, Michigan where he was responsible for several mixed-use commercial projects and well as residential developments. Mr. Kinley has served on the board of the Washtenaw Affordable Housing Corporation, was a coach for the University of Michigan Ultimate Team and was also the Captain of a nationally ranked Ultimate Club team.
The Pacific Northwest suits Mr. Kinley’s active lifestyle perfectly as he is an enthusiast of the outdoors, an accomplished Ultimate Frisbee player, triathlete, and rock climber.
